So this was given to me today by Franklin Hurst.
A 1943 Argus.
Frank (Now 87 years old ) was the editor of the Springfield Daily News in the late 1960s. This camera was a hand me down from his mother.
He used it every day for the struggling tabloid of the 1960s.
Springfield Daily News went under in 1970 and was resurrected by me on January 1st 2024. This piece of history was returned to the newspaper it lost over 50 years ago.
It now sits on my shelf as a piece of Springfield history and a reminder of how far back Springfield Daily News really goes.
